The Broomley and Stocksfield Parish Plan

We have started the process of carrying out a Parish Plan. What does this mean to you? Well the aim of the plan is to give those people who take decisions which will shape the future of our parish a pretty good idea of what the residents want to see happen.

With your help we need to-
identify local issues which need to be addressed now
do some crystal ball gazing to shape the future of the parish in 10 or 15 years time.

The Northumberland county set-up is changing in 2009 and more responsibility is being handed down to a local level, so this is our opportunity to be first with a plan that will fit into the new structure.

We are organising a number of different ways to consult you on the following issues:

  • Provision for Young People
  • Highways and Transport
  • Education
  • Health and Social Care
  • Housing and Development
  • Sports and Leisure
  • Environmental Issues
  • Community Cohesion

What will the consultation process involve? Well there will be:

  • Teams within the Parish Plan Group consulting community groups and organisations on the issues listed above
  • 2 village walkabouts
  • A local business survey
  • 2 Action Planning events
  • A Community doorstep enquiry
  • Youth Voice programme
  • An Outcomes exhibition
  • Questions posed to you on the parish website
Stocksfield Station

The first two events were parish walkabouts which will took place on 29th March and 1st April.

More events are planned, and we hope you will come out and meet us and tell us what you feel about your parish. Also we would like you to visit this website regularly to take part in our question and answer sessions and give your opinions.

If you are interested in joining the Parish Plan group please phone Barbara Gravenor on 01661 843864 or e-mail the Parish Clerk Click to e-mail.

We look forward to hearing from you!
